and Documentation Department
The Research and Documentation Department is part of the staff services of the Belgian Federal Public Service Finance. Since 1 January 2003, the former Belgian Federal Ministry of Finance has become the "Federal Public Service Finance", in short "FPS Finance" (Ministerial Decree dd. 18 December 2002). Most of the tasks of the Research and Documentation Department consist of work preparatory to decisions in the policy areas, in particular public finance, with an emphasis on the macroeconomic aspects of budgetary and tax policy. In this context, the Research and Documentation Department is also in charge of the Secretariat of the High Council of Finance. This implies notably that the reports and opinions of the High Council of Finance are prepared by the staff of the Research and Documentation Department. Moreover, the Research and Documentation Department publishes the yearly Tax Survey (and some other periodicals which are only available in Dutch and French) and is in charge of the Central Library of the Federal Public Service Finance. Our place within the organization chart of the Federal Public Service Finance The place of the Research and Documentation Department within the organization chart of the FPS Finance, the former Belgian Federal Ministry of Finance (Ministerial Decree dd. 18 December 2002).
